The Timnath Reservoir is private but available to Colorado Anglers for shore, and non-motorized boat, fishing once the the proper permits have been acquired. Limit of one (1) permit tag per valid/current Colorado Parks & Wildlife fishing license. 

• All Non-Motorized Permits (annual or single day use) require the purchase of a Shore Permit.
• Up to two (2) individuals under the age of sixteen (16) may accompany an angler, free of charge, once the angler has acquired the appropriate permits.
• Colorado resident anglers only.
• Valid Colorado fishing license required.

2025 Reservoir Permit Applications

Registration Dates:

Motorized Boat Permits – March 10, 2025 – 9AM

Shore Permits and Non-Motorized Permits – March 17, 2025 – 9AM

GMA and Colorado Angler Permits – March 23, 2025 – 9AM

Permit applications for the Timnath Reservoir have now closed for this year. However, you are still welcome to enjoy the reservoir year-round, even if you missed the permit deadline. Applications will reopen next year, and we look forward to seeing you then!
