Winter Playground Awareness

We are fortunate to boast multiple open spaces and recreational areas in Timnath. As we move through the winter months, please remember that while the parks offer many opportunities for recreational play thanks to impressive playground structures, it’s important to keep safety top-of-mind.

Snow accumulation, paired with subsequent melting and re-freezing, presents a hazard to children and adults utilizing playground equipment, as slippery surfaces increase the potential for slips and falls. Please use caution; protective surfaces, designed to absorb impacts in the parks from falls, may not be as forgiving. With the possibility of ice or black ice, it is strongly recommended that park-goers utilize play structures and other park amenities with caution during the colder months, even on warm, sunny afternoons. Take note of shady and frozen areas, as these are likely to diminish the protective nature of the surfacing. Always be mindful of children and keep them away from those possibly icy areas.
