As the weather warms up, ticks and mosquitoes start to reappear. The Town contracts with Vector to provide Mosquito Control Operations. Vector sets out mosquito traps in multiple locations around town. Starting the first week of June, data from trap collections will be reviewed on Monday of each week and, depending on the data, spraying is scheduled for Thursday nights at sunset, weather permitting. You can view Vector’s trap data and spray schedule here.
Mosquito bites aren’t just uncomfortable—they still pose a risk for contracting West Nile virus. It’s important to take additional precautions to protect yourself.
● Use insect repellent when going outside.
● Dress in long sleeves and pants to avoid bites.
● Drain any standing water from your property.
● Be extra cautious at dusk and dawn, when mosquitoes are most active.
