IT CAN WAIT Community Safety Campaign

We need your help to keep our students safe! A recent traffic study identified speeding, rolling stops, and distracted driving as ongoing issues during school zone hours. To address this, we are launching the It Can Wait campaign. 

• No Speeding: Follow the speed limit in school zones. No exceptions. 
• No Distractions: Eliminate distractions. Put the phone away and stay focused. 
• No Rolling Stops: Come to a complete stop at stop signs. Rolling through puts lives at risk. 

No matter the distraction—rushing to work, checking your phone, or attending to kids in the backseat—nothing is more important than safety. Speeding and distractions can have devastating consequences. It can wait.

Join us in practicing safe driving! This February, officers will be actively enforcing traffic laws. Our goal is not to issue tickets but to change behaviors. This effort doesn’t stop when the campaign ends. Safe driving in school zones must become the norm.

This campaign is part of a larger initiative for community safety that will be continuing throughout the year. Stay tuned for further updates about how we are considering safety throughout Timnath with the development of a Community Safety Plan.
