2025 Community Survey Results: Timnath Residents Show Strong Support for Continued Growth and Investment

July 17, 2025

The Town of Timnath is excited to share highlights from the 2025 Community Survey, conducted by ETC Institute and completed by over 600 residents. The survey provides a comprehensive snapshot of community sentiment on quality of life, Town services, and key priorities for the future.

“We’re proud of what this data reveals about the Town’s strengths, and we’re equally dedicated to using these results to guide thoughtful improvements,” said Mayor Robert Axmacher. “This survey reflects the strong partnership between our staff, Council, and residents.”

Key Highlights from the 2025 Survey

Overall Satisfaction
• 95% of respondents rated Timnath as a good or excellent place to live.
• 93% said it’s a great place to raise children.
• 97% feel safe in their neighborhoods.

Top-Rated Services
• Town maintenance of streets and sidewalks (82%)
• Police services (78%)
• Communication with residents (76%)
• Parks and Recreation programs and facilities (73%)

Community Values
• Residents cited safety, access to parks and trails, and quality schools as top reasons they choose to live in Timnath.
Opportunities for Improvement:
• Traffic flow, development processes, and continued investment in Parks and Recreation rose as key areas for focus.

Strong Support for a Community Recreation Center
One of the most compelling findings across all engagement efforts was the widespread support for a new community recreation center. This spring, the Parks, Recreation, Open Space, and Trails (PROST) Survey showed 94% of respondents supported the development of a new recreation center. Desired features included lap lanes for swim lessons and exercise, a weight room, and an indoor walking/running track.

Residents also expressed this priority across multiple platforms:
• On the PROST Survey Ideas Wall, three of the four top-voted comments focused on the need for a recreation center.
• Comment cards from PROST meetings gathered in-person echoed this call, with the recreation center being the most mentioned topic (54 responses!).
• The PROST Survey Budget Prioritization Tool revealed that residents prioritized funding the recreation center over other amenities.

The Town is actively exploring how to align this strong community desire with other priorities, including revitalization of Old Town. A proposed recreation center in the heart of Old Town could breathe new life into the area, support local businesses, and provide a year-round hub for health, wellness, and connection. In the upcoming election, voters will have the opportunity to consider funding this project and help bring this shared vision to life.

“While we’re proud of the high ratings, this survey also helps us ask better questions,” added Mayor Axmacher. “We’re excited to use tools like YourTimnath.org to continue the conversation with our residents.”
