Community Invited to Meet Finalists for Timnath’s Next Chief of Police

The Town of Timnath is pleased to announce the four finalists in the search for the next Chief of Police and invites the community to a special Meet & Greet event on Tuesday, May 13 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Police Department Training Room, 5601 E. Harmony Road.
As the Town continues its search for a leader to guide the Timnath Police Department into the future, this event provides residents with a unique opportunity to hear from the top candidates, ask questions, and share input with Town staff. Light refreshments will be served.
Get to Know the Finalists
(In alphabetical order)
Ryan Baranyos
Ryan brings nearly 24 years of public safety experience with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office and currently serves as a Police Captain in Estes Park. He oversees patrol, investigations, School Resource Officers (SROs), and Community Services Officers (CSOs). He holds degrees in Criminal Justice and Human Resources and is a graduate of Northwestern University’s Police Staff & Command.
Captain James Dale
With over 25 years of service at the Houston Police Department (HPD), James Dale has held multiple leadership roles, including overseeing special operations, vice, and major division command. He holds a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Criminology. Captain Dale currently leads the Southwest Division of HPD, which has over 280 employees.
Captain David Janes
Currently a Division Commander with the Cheyenne Police Department, Captain Janes has served in patrol, K9, training, operations, and more across 21 years. A data-driven, community-first leader, he is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and holds a Master of Public Administration.
Laurie Scott
Laurie brings over 30 years of law enforcement experience and most recently served as Assistant Chief in Loveland, Colorado. She began her career in Omaha, Nebraska, rising to the rank of Police Captain. She is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the PERF Senior Management program and holds a Master’s in Criminal Justice.
