Timnath Police Department Launches Blue Envelope Program
July 28, 2026
The Timnath Police Department is proud to launch the Blue Envelope Program, a resource designed to help make traffic stops less stressful and support clear communication between drivers and officers.
The Blue Envelope Program is intended for individuals who have disabilities, medical conditions, communication differences or other circumstances that may affect interactions during a traffic stop. Participants can store important documents, such as a driver’s license, vehicle registration and proof of insurance, inside the envelope and provide it to an officer during a traffic stop. The envelope also allows participants to share information they believe may help officers better understand their communication or support needs.
The program is entirely voluntary and is designed to promote understanding, safety and effective communication for both community members and law enforcement.
Each Blue Envelope includes information and guidance for both drivers and officers. Participants are encouraged to keep the envelope in their vehicle and let an officer know they have a Blue Envelope during a traffic stop. The envelope may also include emergency contact information and other details the participant chooses to share.
Blue Envelopes are available at the Timnath Police Department, 5601 E. Harmony Rd.
