Laurie Scott Begins Role as Timnath’s New Chief of Police

The Town of Timnath is pleased to welcome Laurie Scott as the new Chief of Police. She officially begins her role today, July 21, 2025. She will be formally sworn in at the Town Council Meeting on Tuesday, July 22.

Chief Scott brings more than 30 years of distinguished law enforcement experience and a strong record of leadership grounded in public service and community partnership.

Most recently, she served as Assistant Chief of Police for the City of Loveland, where she led two of the department’s three divisions. Prior to her service in Colorado, she spent over 28 years with the Omaha Police Department, rising to the rank of Captain and leading both Patrol Operations and Support Services.

A graduate of the FBI National Academy and the Senior Management Institute for Police, Chief Scott is known for her steady leadership, approachable style, and deep commitment to public safety.

“Chief Scott brings a proven track record of leadership, integrity, and transparent community-focused policing,” said Mayor Robert Axmacher. “She has earned the respect of colleagues and residents in both Colorado and Nebraska. We are thrilled to welcome her to Timnath, and I’m confident she will lead our department with strength and focus as Timnath continues to grow.”

Chief Scott shared her gratitude for the opportunity to serve the Town of Timnath and its residents:

“With sincere gratitude for the opportunity to serve, I’m humbled to lead the men and women of the Timnath Police Department and to partner with this incredible community,” she said.

The Town Council meeting and swearing-in ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, at Timnath Town Center, and all are welcome to attend.
