Timnath Code Enforcement Service

The Town of Timnath Code Enforcement Service is responsible for the enforcement of a variety of Town codes and ordinances. The codes were created to enhance the quality of life in our Town, and help to maintain healthy neighborhoods free of unsightly or hazardous conditions that can have a negative impact on surrounding property values. The Town can achieve a quality of life by working with the community to ensure that every Timnath neighborhood is a source of pride for its residents and business owners. Animal Control/Enforcement

If the situation presents an immediate danger, or in the case of an emergency, please call 9-1-1.
For non-emergencies, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. please call the Town of Timnath at: 970-224-3211 or submit a complaint using the form below.  Note: At this time, the Town’s Code Enforcement & Animal Control response time is limited to Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Weeds, Brush, Rubbish, and Trash

The Town shall give written notice to the property owner of said property of any violation of this Article and shall give notice that said owner has two (2) days to cut or remove the weeds, brush and rubbish, and comply with the requirements of this Article (Ord. 11-2002).

Weed means an unsightly, useless, troublesome or injurious growing herbaceous plant, and shall include all rank vegetable growth which exhales unpleasant and noxious odors and also high and rank vegetable growth that may conceal filthy deposits.

Brush means voluntary growth of bushes and such as are growing out of place at the location where growing and shall include all cuttings from trees and bushes; and also high and rank shrubbery growth which may conceal filthy deposits.

Rubbish means any type of debris, trash, waste or rejected matter.

Trash means any worn-out, broken up or used refuse, rubbish, toppings, twigs, leaves of trees or worthless matter or material.

What is an illegal vehicle?
An illegal vehicle is a vehicle that does not have license plates or the license plates are expired. Also, vehicles that are wrecked, dismantled, and inoperable are considered to be an illegal vehicle. Illegal vehicles cannot be parked on Town streets or parked on your property within the public’s view. Unlicensed or inoperable vehicles must be stored in a completely enclosed building.
What is considered junk?
Items that are not designed or intended for outside use cannot be stored outside a home or building. Storing items such as car parts, construction material, not being used, boxes, newspapers, household trash, appliances, indoor furniture, wood, tree cuttings, tires, chemicals, carpet, mattresses, etc. outside on the property is not allowed.
