Back to school isn’t just for the kids this year! Join the inaugural class of Timnath Citizens Academy and learn how your local government operates. Over the course of this five-week program, fifteen citizens will delve into the Town of Timnath’s inner workings. Learn about general governance, budgeting and finance, public works, parks, the Timnath Police Department, community development and Town Council’s role and duties. This interactive program will connect participants with town staff and your neighbors as you explore the day-to-day and long-term issues and opportunities that the Town of Timnath tackles.
Apply today for one of the 15 spots in Timnath Citizens Academy! The first four classes will be held on Thursday evenings from 6-9 p.m. in varying locations throughout Timnath. Dinner will be provided each evening. The dates for the Thursday sessions are: October 14, 21, 28, and November 4. The final session will held on Tuesday, November 9th and will begin at 5:00 p.m. prior to a regular Town Council meeting starting at 6:00 p.m.
